A Fresh Start

2018 flew by, I feel like I have blinked and we're already in 2019. At the start of 2018 I told myself "this will be my year". I wanted to make big changes and have achieved something at the end of the year. As life passes by I am guilty of sitting and letting opportunities become out of my reach. New Year Resolutions have never been something I have managed to stick to, I always start off so enthusiastic and slowly life takes over. Well to make sure that 2019 is everything I am hoping for,  I am adjusting my focus and giving myself new goals for this year. They're not set in stone, simply small prompts to help this year be the best year.

My Instagram and blog is a huge goal I want to work on this year. I had previously had a YouTube channel, and since moving out and starting to work more it was never something that I had been able to keep on  top of. So this year I am going to put more focus into getting my blog back to where it used to be. I am also going to try my hardest to regularly post on Instagram and become a lot more active on social media. Writing and taking pictures is a huge hobby of mine and the fact that I have stopped means that there has been one less thing for me to enjoy. When you find something that you look forward to doing or creating, being able to throw all of your energy into it is only going to make you happier.

Since I never went to university and I didn't hugely enjoy education I feel like I have always been lost for a career to aim for. So in 2019 I hope to find a job that I love doing. It doesn't have to be anything spectacular or a career that I intend to stick to for the rest of my life. Just a role that makes me happy and can support me for now. Working takes up so much of life that I refuse to be in a job just for the money. I hope that I can find something that excites me and brings me new opportunities. In 2018 I was lucky enough to get a promotion down to pure hard work. After a change in circumstances I left that career and am now on a search for something even more suited to me.

Being too busy or working too much isn't a good enough excuse for not being able to spend time with family and friends. Last year especially I feel as though I hadn't given enough attention to the people who mean the most to me. Yes work has been busy but I'm sure I could've worked around that. Travel is a huge expense but Megabus is the way to go, with a return ticket only being £9 from London. So my final resolution is going to be to make more time for family and friends. Whether that being just meeting for a coffee, facetiming or heading back home to see everyone.

I never stick to any resolutions at the start of the year, I don't think my attention span can quiet stick at it for that long. So hopefully being less strict with myself and looking upon them as year long goals will really change this year for the better. Let me know if you managed to stick to your resolutions in 2018, and if you will be making some new ones now. It's never too late to make a change.

A Look Through 2018

As most years do 2018 has had its ups and downs. This year more than any I have learnt so much about myself and I couldn't be more thrilled to be entering 2019 on a high note. As humans we natural focus on all of the things that have gone wrong and things that we could've done better. My 2018 has been a year filled with memories and positives. So here are some of my favourite moments and things I am proud of all from the past year.

Kicking off the year in the best possible way, I was lucky enough to be Maid of Honour for my amazing sister. It was such a great day surrounded by family and friends. A day truly enjoyed by everyone. Everyone was stunned by the dress, there was fantastic food and we finished the day off having laughs in the photo booth. Definitely a highlight of the year.

Moving swiftly into summer and what a summer it was. In case you have a short term memory and can't remember the heat wave let me remind you. It was so flipping hot! These months have got to be my favourite out of the year. There are far too many memories for me to share, I went to the sea side, we went on boats and to the zoo. Summer was crazy, these are just a few of my favourite photos.

Christmas will always make it's way into my top 3 moments of the year guaranteed. 2018 was no exception to this rule. I was surrounded by so much family it was hard not to feel loved. I  am utterly blessed to be able to see so many of my family around Christmas and that's why it is always so magical. We had the most fantastic day and December as a whole was so festive.

Just like that 2018 is over. I hope everyone got everything that they wished for and if it didn't turn out how you hoped then not to worry there's a whole new book of memories to write in 2019. I wish everyone a Happy 2019.
