A Fresh Start

2018 flew by, I feel like I have blinked and we're already in 2019. At the start of 2018 I told myself "this will be my year". I wanted to make big changes and have achieved something at the end of the year. As life passes by I am guilty of sitting and letting opportunities become out of my reach. New Year Resolutions have never been something I have managed to stick to, I always start off so enthusiastic and slowly life takes over. Well to make sure that 2019 is everything I am hoping for,  I am adjusting my focus and giving myself new goals for this year. They're not set in stone, simply small prompts to help this year be the best year.

My Instagram and blog is a huge goal I want to work on this year. I had previously had a YouTube channel, and since moving out and starting to work more it was never something that I had been able to keep on  top of. So this year I am going to put more focus into getting my blog back to where it used to be. I am also going to try my hardest to regularly post on Instagram and become a lot more active on social media. Writing and taking pictures is a huge hobby of mine and the fact that I have stopped means that there has been one less thing for me to enjoy. When you find something that you look forward to doing or creating, being able to throw all of your energy into it is only going to make you happier.

Since I never went to university and I didn't hugely enjoy education I feel like I have always been lost for a career to aim for. So in 2019 I hope to find a job that I love doing. It doesn't have to be anything spectacular or a career that I intend to stick to for the rest of my life. Just a role that makes me happy and can support me for now. Working takes up so much of life that I refuse to be in a job just for the money. I hope that I can find something that excites me and brings me new opportunities. In 2018 I was lucky enough to get a promotion down to pure hard work. After a change in circumstances I left that career and am now on a search for something even more suited to me.

Being too busy or working too much isn't a good enough excuse for not being able to spend time with family and friends. Last year especially I feel as though I hadn't given enough attention to the people who mean the most to me. Yes work has been busy but I'm sure I could've worked around that. Travel is a huge expense but Megabus is the way to go, with a return ticket only being £9 from London. So my final resolution is going to be to make more time for family and friends. Whether that being just meeting for a coffee, facetiming or heading back home to see everyone.

I never stick to any resolutions at the start of the year, I don't think my attention span can quiet stick at it for that long. So hopefully being less strict with myself and looking upon them as year long goals will really change this year for the better. Let me know if you managed to stick to your resolutions in 2018, and if you will be making some new ones now. It's never too late to make a change.

A Look Through 2018

As most years do 2018 has had its ups and downs. This year more than any I have learnt so much about myself and I couldn't be more thrilled to be entering 2019 on a high note. As humans we natural focus on all of the things that have gone wrong and things that we could've done better. My 2018 has been a year filled with memories and positives. So here are some of my favourite moments and things I am proud of all from the past year.

Kicking off the year in the best possible way, I was lucky enough to be Maid of Honour for my amazing sister. It was such a great day surrounded by family and friends. A day truly enjoyed by everyone. Everyone was stunned by the dress, there was fantastic food and we finished the day off having laughs in the photo booth. Definitely a highlight of the year.

Moving swiftly into summer and what a summer it was. In case you have a short term memory and can't remember the heat wave let me remind you. It was so flipping hot! These months have got to be my favourite out of the year. There are far too many memories for me to share, I went to the sea side, we went on boats and to the zoo. Summer was crazy, these are just a few of my favourite photos.

Christmas will always make it's way into my top 3 moments of the year guaranteed. 2018 was no exception to this rule. I was surrounded by so much family it was hard not to feel loved. I  am utterly blessed to be able to see so many of my family around Christmas and that's why it is always so magical. We had the most fantastic day and December as a whole was so festive.

Just like that 2018 is over. I hope everyone got everything that they wished for and if it didn't turn out how you hoped then not to worry there's a whole new book of memories to write in 2019. I wish everyone a Happy 2019.

2018 Travel Bucketlist

2017 was a huge year for me.. the year I finally bought my first passport. Paris was of course top of my list of places to visit and I was lucky enough to go last summer. It was everything and more that I hoped for. Since the world is so big and has lots of hidden treasures in places you wouldn't expect I have put together a list of my top five places I hope to visit this year!

I don't feel like there is any need to explain why this is top of my list of places I would love to travel to this year. It is the most picturesque place I have ever seen. Phuket is of course a place for tourists which is something I would usually avoid but it is so beautiful how can I resist. I have all of my fingers crossed that I will be able to visit here at some time this year!

Iceland is a destination I have been waiting to visit for a long time just as Paris was. The thought of being under the northern lights at Christmas time is too much excitement for a Christmas fanatic like myself. The blue lagoon is of course another very beautiful destination and lets be honest it's a great background for Instagram pictures! Since I would love to have that magical festive feeling while I'm there Iceland will have to wait until December, but I'm sure it will be worth the wait!

I like to imagine myself as a healthy sporty person, whether or not that's true I wouldn't like to say..  Austria seems like the perfect scenic place to go skiing, a sport I have never tried but looks a lot of fun! The idea of coming home to a cabin and having a nice cup of hot chocolate with marshmallows after skiing all day sounds bloody fantastic to me. Although not being the most elegant person around leaves me wondering if I could actually make it through a skiing trip without breaking any bones.

I had the opportunity to visit Amsterdam last year but myself and my boyfriend only visited for the night. There was so much of the amazing city that we didn't get to explore. I can't help but envision myself riding a rented bike near the canals which was something unfortunately we didn't get to do last time. Amsterdam is probably the trip that is most in my reach so hopefully we can get to go for another weekend to explore properly.

What a beautiful place Italy is! Rome, Florence, Venice, Naples, the list of places goes on and on. I haven't decided where in Italy I would like to visit yet but I know it is on my list for sure! If anyone has any recommendations let me know I would love to hear some!

Wherever I end up visiting this year I'm sure they will all be an experience I will never forget. Also an experience I will definitely blog!

As the incredible Anne Frank said
"How wonderful is it that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world".
